About Us
Operation Smile Australia’s volunteer and fund-raising base continues to grow, with a second chapter in the city of Melbourne. During Operation Smile Australia’s third craniofacial education mission to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the team performed six patients suffering from craniofacial abnormalities. One of the highlights was when Operation Smile Vietnam medical volunteers, who had participated in a craniofacial education mission in 2004, presented the 18 craniofacial patients who had received surgery with successful results. Operation Smile Australia also provided clinical observerships for two Vietnamese neurosurgeons. Some children need more care than can be provided during a medical mission. These children from Asian countries are brought to Australia through the World Care Program.
